Winter Rosellas in the Sherbrooke Forest

Saturday June 24 2006 was bleak, overcast, and cold. So I headed out to the Sherbrooke Forest in the Dandenong Ranges National Park, 50 km east of here, to gather some images and track notes for a "Winter in Sherbrooke Forest" article.

I ended up doing the walk from the main car park to the Falls, and return, about 3 km. It was quite dark inside the forest, the tracks were muddy and wet, and I spotted one nice lyrebird near the track.

Despite the cold conditions, there were many other people walking through the forest, and the brightly colored rosellas and parrots gathered in the car park, waiting for their seeds!

This was an interesting, though muddy, excursion, and the Photos are at

No couch potatoes there...!
