The Highfield Track is in the eastern sector of the Mornington Peninsula National Park, 100 km south of Melbourne.
It starts at a small car park on the Flinders-Dromana Rd, and passes through the exotic, lush, Green's Bush region, offerring good views across the hills towards the coastline.
It links with the Long Point Circuit Walk which I have described elsewhere in worldisround.
Large grass trees are a principal attraction along this interesting walk.
Mobs of grey kangaroos live in the area, and generally come out two hours before sunset for feeding!
The pictures were taken on December 30, 2006, on the 6 km (return) hike.
