The Happy Valley Track is a 5 km return walk in the Long Forest, 50 km west of Melbourne.
Most of it is rocky, stony, dusty and steep, and Parks Victoria advises not to attempt this walk on very hot days or after heavy rain.
It descends to the pretty Box Flat on the banks of the Coimadai Creek, which was dry on this occasion due to the prolonged drought.
The pictures were taken on December 3, 2006.
