The Doctors Creek Track is in the Yarra State Forest, some 100 km east of Melbourne.
It starts at the Upper Yarra Reservoir Park, passing through the Doctors Creek Valley.
It ascends steeply to a Lookout about 2 km from the start, with excellent views across the Reservoir.
It continues up-hill for a further 2 km, finally reaching an open clearing at the Summit, the site of a disused Helipad.
The section from the Lookout to the Summit is appallingly steep, and is not for couch potatoes! The gradient is about 1 in 4.
There are views across the Yarra State Forest to the Marysville region, but somewhat obscured by tall regrowth.
Water level in the Reservoir is very low due to the drought, and there are many tree stumps now visible, which have been uncovered as the level recedes.
I did this hike on March 12, 2007.
