O'Shannassy Aqueduct Track - Cement Creek Section
On March 21, 2007, I did a 4 km (return) hike along the recently opened Cement Creek section of the O'Shannassy Aqueduct Track, East Warburton, 80 km east of Melbourne.
When fully open, the Trail, for walkers and cyclists, will be 30 km in total, following the Track used for maintenance of the Aqueduct, prior to its decommissioning in 1997.
The Aqueduct was opened in 1922.
A large section of the Trail has recently been officially opened to walkers and cyclists - it is now managed by Parks Victoria, following transfer of the corridor from Melbourne Water.
