Bolin Bolin Billabong Reserve, Yarra Parklands, Bulleen

The Bolin Bolin Billabong Reserve is next to the Yarra River, adjacent to Bulleen Park, 15 km east of Melbourne.

The Billabong was originally a loop of the Yarra, and is now separated from the river.

The Reserve is of important historical and cultural significance to the Aboriginal community.

The Cultural Landscape Trail passes through the Reserve, which is maintained by Parks Victoria, the Shire of Manningham, and local community groups and organizations.

The Billabong is mainly dry, apart from the lake, with resident ducks (!), at the Bulleen Rd end.

I visited the Reserve on October 3, 2007, exploring about 6 km of walking tracks.
