Tremont Hill - Dandenong Ranges NP

Tremont Hill is a rugged spur in the Dandenong Ranges National Park, 35 km east of the Melbourne.

A 1 km walking track extends to the Summit from the small settlement of Tremont, then descends down the spur to Hughes Rd. The change in altitude is 90m.

The Track passes through bushland, with views towards Melbourne and the Ranges.

Much of the forest was destroyed in the disastrous fires of 1962 and 1968 and there has been extensive regrowth.

A picnic table is located at the Summit.

I explored this interesting section of the National Park on November 5, 2007.

My photos are at Tremont Hill Album
