Rifle Range Gully Track - Olinda - Dandenong Ranges National Park

The Rifle Range Gully Track is in the Olinda Section of the Dandenong Ranges National Park, 45 km east of the Melbourne CBD.

It descends deep into the Olinda Valley, with a change of altitude from 413 m to 354 m, passing through dense forest and ferns, following the course of the Rifle Range Creek.

The Gully is a Lyrebird habitat; wombats, rosellas, kookaburras and grey kangaroos also live there.

This track is Grade 4, as defined by the Australian Standards for the Classification of Walking Tracks, with minimal maintenance.

I did this 4 km hike on December 8, 2007, starting and finishing at Falls Rd.
