The Doongalla Forest is on the western edge of the Dandenong Ranges National Park, 35 km east of the Melbourne CBD.
There are many interesting walking/equestrian tracks to enjoy in this beautiful forest, many radiating from the site of the former Doongalla Homestead and Doongalla Stables picnic grounds.
Some of the tracks were once pony paths.
Bill's Track is one of the steepest tracks, which I explored on January 21, 2008. This was a 3 km route starting at the Doongalla Stables picnic ground, then along the Stables and Camelia Tracks.
See the Photo Album of this trip!

Looks like a nice spot Bob, very similar to the tracks around the Lake Elizabeth area (near Forrest)
ReplyDeleteHave you ever been down that way?
Also, have you ever considered putting up a Google Map showing where the walk starts from?
Keep up the great blog. Frank
