The Warrandyte State Park is 15 km east of the Melbourne CBD.
I visited the Park on February 18, 2008, completing a 4 km hike along the Yarra River Trail to Mt Lofty, starting at Witton's Canoe Launching Ramp at Reserve Rd.
This Trail has recently been upgraded and extended, with access permitted to the eastern section of the gorge over exposed rocks along the river bank.
The views of the River, rapids, and hills are superb.
