Andrews Hill is the highest peak in the Wombelano Block of the Kinglake National Park, 60 km NE of Melbourne.
The area was logged until the 1980s, when it was added to the Park.
There are many walking tracks in this section of the Park, which follow old logging roads.
Andrews Hill Track links Mountain Creek Tk with Eucalyptus Creek Rd, and I hiked the southern section to the Summit on April 17, 2008, a challenging 6 km return trip.
There was a rise in altitude from 358m to the Summit at 625m.
The Track winds it way around and up Andrew Hill, passing through forests of Mountain Ash, Grey Gum, Blackwood and ferns.
The start of this walk is at the car park just off Gordon's Bridge Rd, reached from the Melba Highway. The route follows Mountain Creek Rd (gated), then up Andrews Hill Track to the Summit, at the the junction with Dusty Miller Tk.
The Summit is heavily forested with no views - there are limited views to the east, on the ascent, towards the plantations of the Toolangi State Forest.
