Winter hike in the Silvan Forest

On July 22, 2008, I visited the Silvan Forest, in the Melbourne Water Reserve, about 35 km east of the Melbourne CBD.

My 3 km hiking circuit was along the Olinda Creek Track and the Grey Gum Track.

This started at the car park opposite the main entrance to the Silvan Reservoir Park, on Stonyford Rd.

My route took me through beautiful fern gullies, and messmate and grey gum forest, with the Melbourne Water pumping facility nearby.
