Yarra River at Warrandyte - extreme flood mode

These photos show the Yarra River, at Warrandyte, 20 km east of central Melbourne, in extreme flood mode on Saturday afternoon February 5, 2011.

This was the outcome of huge rainfalls and storms which were ravaging Victoria.

The Yarra was a vast muddy torrent, with dead trees, logs and other debris being carried downstream at a speed I estimated to be 30 km/h.

Many sections of the lower walking track from the Taroona Reserve to the Bridge were completely submerged.

Sede all of the Photos pf the flooded river!
