Cardinia Creek from Inglis Road in Beaconsfield to Thompsons Road in Officer is soon to become a grand new park, Cardinia Creek Parklands.
This linear park will take in the floodplain of the creek as well as some larger expanses of land north of Inglis Road.
The park will form a green belt in this rapidly developing residential area. It will also conserve the natural creekside vegetation as a wildlife corridor.
Manna Gum Picnic Area, 50 km SE of central Melbourne, is the first section of these parklands open to the public.
