Condon's Track links Donnolley's Weir Rd with the Monda Track, in the
Maroondah Reservoir catchment area, Healesville, 70 km east of
Melbourne.
Much of the track and forest was destroyed in the tragic
fires of 2009, but there has been extensive regrowth and regeneration.
The track was cut in the early 1900s as a tourist route to Mt Monda,
passing through fern gullies and lush forest.
My visit was on May 17
2012, on a 4 km hike along the lower section of the track, crossing
Sawpit Creek several times.
See the Slide Show (below) of my visit!
