An interesting scenic hike is between Balnarring Beach and Merricks Beach, 80 km south of Melbourne, along the Clifftop Reserve.
I did this hike on Nov 4 2012, starting at Balnarring Beach, then up the track to the clifftop, through the pine trees, and down the stairway to Merricks Beach.
From there, I returned to my start point along the beach.
There are nice views across Westernport Bay from the clifftop.
