Warrandyte - Longridge Park Area

These pix were taken on January 9, 2012.

They show the scenery, environment, and features on a 3 km hike in the western fringe of Warrandyte, in the Conservation Zone, adjacent to the Yarra River, in an large area managed by Parks Victoria.

The land is on the site of a former farm, and some artefacts exist, such as old fence posts, and the remains of an orchard.

The area is opposite the Parks Victoria Longridge Camping Park Centre. Access to this Park requires bookings and payment to be made in advance through Parks Victoria - only basic facilities are provided. Casual day visitors are not allowed, and access is from a locked gate on Alexander Rd.

A 1 km stony track goes downhill to the Yarra from the end of Alexander Rd.

Another track goes westerly along the ridge line, offering good views across the Yarra Parklands.

See all of the Photos of my visit!
