Wilson Botanic Park, Berwick

Pix taken on March 10 2014 in the Wilson Botanic Park, Berwick, in Melbourne's outer south-east, 43 km from the CBD.

It's built on what used to be an old quarry from 1859 till the late 1970s. The gardens were established in 1992, donated to the community by Mr Wilson. The 35 hectare park attracts both international and local visitors for its unique location and stunning gardens set around two large lakes.

My visit was a 4 km exploration of the main features, including the Hoo Hoo Lookout Tower.
