Finn's Reserve - Lower Templestowe

Pix of June 2 2014.

This was a 2 km exploration of Finn's Rsserve, next to the Yarra. Interesting features along the main Trail included the Wombat Bend Playspace (for all ages!), the Templestowe Heritage Pavilion, Commemmorative Plaques, the Suspension Bridge to the Main Yarra Trail, large Information Boards depicting reproductions of paintings along the Artist's Trail, and the Yarra Rapids.

The Paintings were created in the late 1800s, and reveal scenes in the river flats prior to residential development.

Wombat Bend playspace, located at Finns Reserve Lower Templestowe, was developed by Manningham City Council and the local community.

It was made possible through extensive consultation and the development of partnerships between a wide range of community groups, including local schools, disability groups, community groups and local artists.

This collaborative effort helped to inspire, design, plant, create and build the various elements of this heavily used play space.

The Wombats are cute!
