| Cherry Trees |
The Cherry Tree Walk is in the western section of Banksia Park. It is reached from the carpark next to the Leash-Free Dog Compound.
The area was formerly an orchard, dating back to the mid-19th century, and the trees survive to the present. The Track winds its way around the Yarra, passing a very old and tall lemon tree, which continues to produce edible fruit!
Opposite the river is Warringal Park, and the Main Yarra Trail.
There are nice views of the river from several vantage points. The Track ends at the Golf Course.
My visit was on Feb 14 2015, about 2 km return.
