A 3 km exploration on March 9 2015.
The River Gum Walk is part of the Banyule Shared Trail, and links the Banyule Theatre with Banyule Rd.
It is sealed, passing through the River Gum Reserve,where there are magnificent stands of very old gums, some of which are fenced off.
The Walk is signed as unsuitable for casual cycling, as it's quite steep in parts, with a change of altitude from 27 m ro 48 m.
From the high point there are good views to the Dandenongs and the nearby Banyule Mansion is prominent.
