Long Point is in the Green's Bush Region of the Mornington Peninsula National Park, 100 km south of Melbourne.
I visited it from the Two Bay's Walking Track, which passes through magnificent preserved bushland, winding its way around pleasant gullies, Main Creek, and over several bridges.
It is a 7 km return hike from the Boneo Road, east of the coastal township of Flinders.
There are many mobs of Eastern Grey kangaroos resident in the area, as well as the smaller Black Wallabies.
The area is networked with extensive and well-worn "Kangaroo Freeways"!
Other animals encountered were a shy Echidna and a Blotched Blue Tongued lizard!
Green's Bush is a large section of the National Park, named after the original owners. It was purchased by the State Government in 1975. There are several walking tracks through it.
