The walk up to the summit of Mt. Lofty, in the eastern section of the Warrandyte State Park, 25 km from Melbourne, offers superb views of the surrounding hills and the Yarra ranges.
The Yarra River meanders around the mountain, and many Eastern Grey Kangaroos live in the area!
I did this 5 km walk on January 22, 2007.
