Running Creek Valley - Kinglake National Park

The Running Creek Valley is in the Mt Sugarloaf Section of the Kinglake National Park, 85 km NE of Melbourne.

On March 13, 2007, I did a very challenging 6 km hike, starting at the Mason's Falls Picnic Ground, passing through Hazel Glade and Ferny Nook, reaching the (dry) Runnning Creek.

The change in altitude along the Track was 300m, from its highest point of 550m, to the valley floor at 200m.

The descent wasn't difficult, but the return ascent was horrrible, in very hot (35 deg)conditions!

Couch potatoes should not undertake this hike...
