Black Hole Track, Dandenong Ranges NP
Silvan Reservoir from Kalorama Lookout
Nice view to the east from Mathias Track
Black Hole Track is in the Olinda Section of the Dandenong Ranges National park, 45 km east of Melbourne.
It links Mathias Tk and Yalambee Way, passing through superb fern forests.
There are views to the east.
Occasionally, lyrebirds may be encountered. It is a steep track, with a change in altitude from 487 m to 384 m.
I explored this interesting track on December 28, 2007, a 4 km hike starting and finishing at the northern access gate at the junction of Falls Rd and Mathias Track.
Nearby is the Kalorama Lookout, giving panoramic views to the eastern ranges.
See the Photo Album of this trip!
