The Ward's Rd Reserve is a large area of protected bushland, surrounded by open farmland, in the Monbulk district, 40 km east of the Melbourne CBD.
The Monbulk-Clematis Adult Riding School and Pony Club is located at the entrance to the Reserve.
An interesting 2 km walking trail starts at the northern end of the Pony Club, passing through regrowth forest and along a creek. The forest is the habitat of many birds, including parrots and kookaburras.
The trail takes about 45 mins to complete.
I hiked this trail on May 15, 2008.
