Markham Ecological Reserve, Ashburton.

These pix were taken on April 17 2013 in the Markham Reserve, Ashburton.
 

This area contains a protected section of Grassy Woodlands, typical of the vegetation which once covered the present-day Boroondara Shire at the time of European settlement in the 1830s.
 

The protected area is a signed Ecological Nature Reserve, on the banks of Gardiner's Creek, and adjacent to the Gardiner's Creek shared trail.
 

My 2km circuit hike started at Warrigal Rd, and followed the Creek, opposite the Malvern Valley Public Golf Course.
