Koonung Creek Wetlands - Mont Albert North

Those photos were taken on December 9, 2017, and show the scenery and environment in the wetlands, administered by Whitehorse Council.

This was a 2.5 km hike, starting at the car park off Belmore Rd, and included the Boardwalk and part of the Koonung Creek Trail.

A Tender has been issued by Council for removal and replacement of the Boardwalk, which is 110 m long and has an area of 260 square metres.

  2. Nice photos Bob. It's worth mentioning that volunteers from Greenlink Box Hill have been instrumental over the years in planting (from seed/cuttings propagated at Greenlink's own nursery in Wimmera St), weeding and maintaining this wetland. I'm not sure if this has continued to present day as Council support for such community projects appears to have been wound back. Minette Russell-Young and Brian Pell (co-founders of Greenlink) were instrumental in the initial planning and implementation of the wetlands, along with representatives from Vicroads and Melbourne Water
