Sherbrooke Falls in late Autumn

These pix were taken on May 22 2012 in the Sherbrooke Forest, Dandenong Ranges National Park, 40 km east of central Melbourne.

They show the scenery and environment on the 3 km (return) Sherbrooke Track, and the Falls.

This was a very overcast day, almost dark in the forest, not good for photography!

On Monday June 29 2009 I was in the Sherbrooke Forest, Dandenong Ranges National Park.

My task was to review the status of the Monument Track, part of which has been closed off for revegetation.

My 2 km exploration was in horrendous weather, with winds of up to 120 km/h across the forest. Work crews were cutting and removing large trees which had fallen across nearby Sherbrooke Rd.


My hike started at the small car park opposite the Ferny Creek Picnic Ground at the junction of Sherbrooke Rd and the Mt Dandenong Tourist Rd. Hackett Track was followed to a junction with Monument Track, crossing the Sherbrooke Creek, then continuing to Lloyd's Track, and then to the car.


These tracks are very slippery in wet weather and care is needed.
