The Dandenong Ranges Tourist Track is a 15 km walking route linking the towns of Emerald and Sassafras, 45 km east of Melbourne.
On March 7, 2008, I hiked the 3 km (return) Butterfield Reserve to David Hill Rd section of the track, which runs alongside the Woori Yallock Creek, in the Monbulk district, through splendid fern gullies.
