The Yirrip Reserve is part of the Panton Hill Bushland Reserve System, located on Couties Rd, off the Kangaroo Ground-St. Andrews Rd, 30 km NE of Melbourne.
"Yirrip" is an Aboriginal word meaning "Red Ironbark".
The Reserve contains stands of Red Ironbark and other flora, and is managed by the Nillumbik Shire.
There is a perimeter walking track around the Hill - other tracks are in the southern section of the Reserve.
I visited this nice Reserve on September 17, 2007, with excellent views to the Kinglake Ranges and surrounding farmland from the Hill.
