Exploring the Mountain Creek Track, Kinglake National Park

The Mountain Creek Track is a 4.3 km gated trail through beautiful forest, in the Kinglake National Park, 50 km NE of Melbourne.

It links Gordon's Bridge Rd with Eucalyptus Rd, off the Melba Highway, north of the town of Kinglake.

The track is a former logging road, now closed to public vehicles, used for fire protection and park management - walkers are permitted.

There are nice views from the ridge towards the open farming country near Kinglake.

The track rises from 385 m to 456 m.

I hiked this track on February 21, 2008, 8 km return.
