Murmungee Lookout - Stanley State Forest

The Murmungee Lookout is in the Stanley State Forest, south of the small settlement of Stanley, in NE Victoria, about 250 km from Melbourne.

It is reached from the Buckland Gap Rd, which links Beechworth with the Great Alpine Rd.

It is a 3 km drive up a narrow steep dirt road to the Lookout, which is at altitude 757 m.

An information board shows a panorama of the magificent valley, with the names and directions of geographical features which can be seen towards the south and west.

The images were taken on December 14, 2008, just prior to a rain storm.
