MAROONDAH AQUEDUCT SYSTEM - ONLINE HERITAGE PROJECT

MAROONDAH AQUEDUCT SYSTEM - ONLINE HERITAGE PROJECT

You may want to look at my newly released, free, on-line Heritage Project about the History of the Maroondah Aqueduct System.

This Research Study describes the history of the Maroondah Aqueduct Water Supply System, commissioned in 1891, which was a major part of Melbourne's major water supply system.

It examines the planning, design, construction, development, evolution and operations of the Aqueduct, the Maroondah (Watts) Weir. and the Maroondah Reservoir, which collectively represented a massive engineering construction project of the time.

Additionally, information is given about the history of the Preston Reservoir,(the western terminal of the Aqueduct), the Graceburn Weir, the Yan Yean Reservoir System, and Donnelley's Weir.

Chapters about the public access trails along the former management tracks next to the open channel are included: Healesville, Eltham/Research and Kangaroo Ground.

It contains 30 Chapters, with images, text, videos, sound, maps and drawings.

This Study is dedicated to the memory of the men and women who were involved in the building and operations of the System, some of which remains operational to the present day.
