The Enfield State Park is a large area of protected forest, 120 km SW of Melbourne.
It was a former gold mining location in the 1860s, and extensive sections have been set aside for fossicking.
We did a 6 km circuit walk along the Grevillia, West Dozed Break, and Berrigan-Misery Creek Tracks on June 2, 2007.
This was quite challenging, as the route took us down to the bottom of the valley, to 291m, a very steep descent from a starting point of 378m, then up the other side of the valley to the ridge top, at 427m.
There were some interesting views from the ridge high point to the open plains to the south.
