There are innumerable walking tracks in the Olinda Forest, Dandenong Ranges National Park, 60 km east of Melbourne.
On June 5, 2007, I did a circuit walk linking the Eagle Nest and Valley Picnic Grounds.

The forest was green and lush, with tall tree ferns and timber. The environment is exquisite, the only sounds from the birds in the trees!
These picnic grounds were formerly farms in the 1940s and were subequently intregrated into the National Park.
The Olinda Section of the Park was added in 1997.
Major bushfires ravaged the Park in 1962 and 1968, and the Olinda Forest is largely regrowth.
