Sherbrooke Forest is in the Dandenong Ranges National Park, 30 km east of Melbourne.
I visited this forest on August 31, 2007, exploring the magnificent rain forest and tall tree ferns along the Clematis and Treefern Tracks, starting and finishing at the Sherbooke Lodge.
My route was about 4 km (return), very steep, rocky and muddy in parts, with a change of altitude from 486 to 363m!
The Treefern Track is one of the best!
