The Sherbrooke Forest in winter provides many opportunities for exploring the many walking tracks there.
The Forest, in the Dandenong Ranges National Park, is 40 km east of the Melbourne CBD.
On June 30 2008, a cold and rainy day, I did a 4 km circuit hike starting at the Sherbrooke Picnic Ground. This took me along the Sherbrooke Track, O'Donohue's Track, past the Falls, then along Hackett's Track, Monument Track, and Lloyd's Track.
These Tracks are popular right throughout the year - many colored parrots gather at the Picnic Ground for refreshments!
