The VW Track - Olinda Forest

The VW Track links the Olinda Creek Rd and Barges Rd. It is not signposted at either end, and some maps only show part of it!

I completed it (4 km return) on June 28, 2006, starting and finishing at the Olinda Creek Rd access point, which is at the junction of Barber's Rd.

The track climbs VERY steeply, over stones and rocks, until it reaches the ridge line high up in the forest. It passes through inrteresting timber country, which had been logged until about 1968.

The forest is mainly regrowth, resuyltiung mfrom the disastrous bushfires of 1968 which wiped out much of the forest.
