The Cardinia Aqueduct Trail links Thewlis and Officer Rds, in West Gippsland, 60 km east of Melbourne.
It was constructed by Cardinia Shire in 2006, and follows the old aqueduct, decommissioned in 1998, which connected the Tarago and Beaconsfield Reservoirs.
It is a 4 km return hike, through forest, with views to the south across farms and hills.
I completed this Trail on August 15, 2007.
There are excellent views of the Toomuc Valley from Thewlis Rd.
