Emerald to Cockatoo Trail (Central Section)

The Emerald to Cockatoo Trail is an interesting 6 km shared route 60 km east of Melbourne.

The Central Section runs easterly from Emerald Lake Park, passing through the mysterious 161 hectare Wright Forest - the Puffing Billy narrow gauge railway is nearby.

I hiked this section, about 4 km return, on August 16, 2007, along the Wattle Creek Gully with its magnificent ferns and acacias, then through Wright Forest.
