Rowdy's Track is in the Doongalla Section of the Dandenong Ranges National Park, 35 km east of Melbourne.
It is a gated fire management track, linking the Mt Dandenong Tourist Rd with Thomson's Track, 1 km.
It is horrendously steep, from a base altitude of 358m and rising to 482m at the top.
The rewards for this challenging journey are good views towards the Kinglake Ranges.
I walked this track on August 8, 2007.
This section of the Park was almost totally destroyed in the bushfies of 1962, and has now regrown.
