Thomson's Track (also spelled "Thompson's") is a gated section of Thomson's Rd, high up in the Doongalla Section of the Dandenong Ranges National Park, 35 km east of Melbourne.
Used for fire management, the 1.5 km track links Hand's Rd in the east with the non-gated sector to the west.
Altitude is 482m.
The track passes through forest, with some interesting views towards the Kinglake Ranges to the north.
This section of the forest was destroyed in the bushfires of 1962 and there has been extensive regrowth since.
I walked this track on August 9, 2007.
