Bunyip Nature Sanctuary - Gippsland

The Bunyip Nature Sanctuary is just north of the town of Bunyip, 70 km east of Melbourne.

It's a seldom-visited 13 hectare wetlands reserve, on Doran Rd, formerly part of the KooWeeRup Swamp, and is the habitat of many species of birds, frogs, lizards, snakes and mammals.

The Sanctuary has a small car park, nice picnic area, and walking tracks. The footbridges over the Creek are quite rustic!

There are good views to the Bunyip State Park, Mt Towt, and Mt Cannibal.

I explored the Sanctuary on September 10, 2007.
