Malvern Urban Forest
These pix were taken on Feb 26, 2014, in the Malvern Urban Forest.
This was a 2 km (return) circuit exploration, on the trail which started at Waverley Rd, ending at Dandenong Rd.
The Forest was built by the (then) Malvern City Council in 1985 in the former Outer Circle Railway Reserve. No trace of the railway remains on this section.
It features a grassy picnic area, ponds, ducks, pedestrian and cycle paths, bridges, and extensive tree plantings. Information boards along the Trail describe the fauna and flora in the Forest and the history of the area.
The Forest is maintained by the City of Stonnington.
