Burke Road Bridge Billabong Reserve - Kew

Pix of May 13 2015. This was a 3 km circuit hike, starting at the car park at the Eaglemont Tennis Club, off The Boulevard, then on to the suspension footbridge over the Yarra.

From there, along the Main Yarra Trail to the Burke Rd Bridge Billabong Reserve, then on to the muddy track through the forest, past the fenced Billabong (dry). The turnabout point was just past the large high-voltage electrical power station, next to the Golf Course.

  1. Howdy Bob, looks cold and wet under foot with long shadows, at least the sun was out, nice area to go walking provided you have the rubber boots on of course! Thanks for sharing and best regards! Michael

  2. Thanks for the pictures and report. I'm the instigator of the reveg work that has been done there over the last 8 years. Just a couple of ?s. Why did you think the billabong was fenced. The one on the golf course is but the Burke Rd. reserve billabong is not fenced. The "large high-voltage electrical power station" is actually a MW sewerage pumping station, which pimps the sewerage from the northern suburbs to Werribee or Carrum.
