Main Yarra Trail - Bedford Rd to Burke Rd Billabong

Pix taken on May 25, 2015,  on a 4 km  (return) hike.

Much of the Trail is squeezed between the Eastern Freeway protective fence and the Kew Golf Club perimeter boundary fence. Care is needed to avoid cyclists! The Golf Club is very large, extending to the Yarra - has several small billabongs and a large lake (Simpson's Lake for irrigation. Glass Creek runs through the Course. Access to the Golf Course is nominally limited to golfers.

The huge amount of fast-flowing traffic on the Freeway generates vast noise and fumes.

  1. Howdy Bob, not much traffic on the freeway, the area looks really nice though and that no doubt is an 18 hole golf course?
I think that wildcat is a bit of a worry, could be a bit dangerous!!!! Thanks for sharing and best regards! Michael
