Yackandcandah - Heritage Trail

Our visit of May 30, 2015. This was a hike from the old Police Paddocks along the Bicentenial Walkway to the former Yackandandah Railway Station. The 12.5 miles line opened in July 1891 and closed in July 1954. The legacy of the station remains in the names of some streets, such as Railway Ave, and Turntable Lane. The station land is now an arts centre (the entrance is on the original refurbished platform) and a service station. The old crane is opposite.

  1. Howdy Bob, wow, some magnificent photos here showing us around this most wonderful and historic place, looked cold though and not much water flowing in the creek, thanks for sharing and best regards! Michael
