Sherbrooke Forest is in the Dandenong Ranges National Park, 60 km east of Melbourne.
There are many excellent walking tracks there, some leading to the Sherbrooke Falls.
I visited the Forest on June 11, 2007, hiking a 4 km circuit along Lloyd's, Monument, and Wattle Tracks.
The Forest is lush, green and damp, with magnificient tall timber, but there were no lyrebirds to be seen!
