Rainbow Bird Trail, Golden Lake Sector

The Golden Lake sector of the 35 km Rainbow Bird Trail extends from Jubilee Mine Rd to Nimmon's Bridge, 150 km west of Melbourne, south of Ballarat.

The album shows images on our long (return) hike of 14 km on this very scenic and picturesque sector on October 6, 2007.

The Trail follows Greenwood's Lane, through the Jubilee Mine Reserve, then along Golden Lake Rd, along Casey Rd, to the junction with the Ballarat-Skipton Rail Trail.

We passed relics of the old gold mines at various locations - spring wildflowers were in abundance!

The photos of our trip are at my Photo Album.
